We are on a mission to empower and engage 1 MILLION Angelenos as architects of our own planning and design of public spaces and infrastructure. We believe in the power of authentic community engagement where residents become co-creators of their Urbano environment. We are dedicated to enhancing our local infrastructure and fostering socioeconomic investment creating opportunities for every Angeleno to thrive, every neighborhood to prosper, and a future that is characterized by equity and sustainability. We are Urbano Strategies – architects of change, champions of community, and an impetus for transformative change in Los Angeles.:

Goals
We aim to create community-powered projects to diversify the way community development is practiced bringing people together to create thoughtful design that empowers Urbano communities. Our goal is to transform communities to become engaged in taking actions that creates positive change and fosters sustainable development. Using multidisciplinary practices, we break down systemic barriers that prevent marginalized communities from having a say in their own futures. Our ultimate goal is to create memorable, collaborative experiences that empower sustainable and socially just communities.

FOUNDER and CEO
Jesse De La Cruz
Jesse De La Cruz is a visionary leader dedicated to catalyzing profound community growth and fostering meaningful engagement across diverse neighborhoods. With over a decade of experience, Jesse’s journey has been driven by an unwavering commitment to environmental justice and community empowerment, rooted deeply in his upbringing in South Los Angeles. Fuelled by a relentless passion for social justice, Jesse pursued his Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Irvine, as a testament to his enduring dedication to serving and uplifting his community for years to come. Drawing from his expertise spanning strategic community engagement, demographic analysis, green space design, program development, leadership cultivation, and outreach planning, Jesse excels in crafting transformative campaigns and facilitating grassroots decision-making processes. His tireless advocacy has led to direct actions for policy reform, the acquisition of public and private funding for underserved areas, and the empowerment of community-driven initiatives. Jesse is the CEO of Urbano Strategies. He also served as the Mayor’s Task Force member for the Youth Development Department.
